Outreach
Prevention & Intervention
The Outreach Department is dedicated to supporting youth impacted by gang/group violence in Clark County. We connect with youth facing increased vulnerability due to geographic location, economic hardship, exposure to group violence, or friends and family members affiliated with gangs or high-risk activity. Outreach provides intentional support designed to interrupt cycles of violence and expand access to safe, healthy pathways forward.
We match young people with caring, consistent mentors who help them build positive relationships and connect to meaningful opportunities and resources.
Our work is grounded in an approach that combines:
- Prevention strategies
- Community outreach
- Targeted interventions
- Strong partnerships with families and community resources
Through both Prevention and Intervention programs, youth receive individual mentorship and group support from trained staff mentors. Whether through one-on-one goal setting or structured group activities, participants gain a safe space to connect, build healthy relationships, access resources, and engage in pro-social, educational, and vocational opportunities.
Programs Offered
The Prevention Program serves up to thirty youth at each of our elementary Clubhouses. Youth are referred by Club staff based on identified needs for additional support. This program operates during regular Club hours and focuses on early, proactive intervention.
What Prevention Includes:
- Weekly one-on-one mentor check-ins
- Personalized goal setting and progress tracking
- Skill-building in conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and decision-making
- Strength-based encouragement and relationship building
By meeting youth early and consistently, Prevention helps strengthen protective factors and build confidence, resilience, and accountability.

Interested in Outreach?
Prevention youth are referred in by club staff at our elementary sites. Talk to our staff if you think your youth might qualify.
Intervention referrals often come from club staff, community organizations , juvenile justice and schools. Outreach is a voluntary program led by what our teens/young adults want to do. During the intake process we check in with youth/young adults about what goals they have and what they are hoping to get out of the program. In order to qualify, the youth must meet the following criteria:
- Live in an area impacted by gang/group violence or experience risk factors such as low school attachment, familial stress, childhood aggression, substance use, or adverse childhood experiences.
- Live in Clark County
- Household income below 80% AMI
If you would like to refer a youth into Outreach, please reach out to one of our team members and we can share more information.
