YOUTH OF THE YEAR
Youth of the Year recognition is the highest honor a Club member can achieve. Youth of the Year celebrates youth who have demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments. These deserving young people are recognized for service to their Club and community, academic performance and contributions to their family. Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs.
In February, the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Washington holds our local Youth of the Year Event. Each year, youth are nominated by Club staff for their leadership and academic achievements. Nominees prepare speeches and essays and practice their interviewing skills with judges from out local community who select the winner.
The 2018 Youth of the Year, Rachel Rippey, represented Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington at the state competition.
