Our teen programs aim to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
Teen Services at Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington consist of two Teen Centers; Teen Turf Club (TTC) and Elise Menashe Teen Center (EMTC), and two grant-funded programs; Outreach and College & Career Prep. The goal of Teen Services is to extend the Boys & Girls Clubs mission to members ages 11-18 after they age out of the elementary sites until they graduate high school and beyond.
The two Teen Centers: Teen Turf Club, located upstairs from the O.K. Clubhouse, and Elise Menashe Teen Center, located next door to the Clinton & Gloria John Clubhouse serve as hubs for the teens of our organization and our community. We aim to create a positive, well-rounded, healthy, and fun environment for youth in middle and high school. To achieve this, we offer programs that focus on academic excellence, healthy lifestyles, character & leadership, and the arts. These programs paired with dedicated positive staff to serve as mentors and role models give our members the ultimate Club experience and their best chance to succeed.
In partnership with the Safe Communities Task Force, our Prevention and Intervention programs match youth living in areas impacted by group violence with mentors to build positive relationships, connect, and provide opportunities and resources.
Help One Person Every day (H.O.P.E.) Team was established in 2019 in collaboration with our Prevention and Intervention programs as a way to empower and engage youth in their community. H.O.P.E. Team connects Club members to volunteer in community engagement projects throughout Clark County.
College & Career Prep is an academic success program designed to inspire the dream of college and career and help youth link future aspirations with academic goals.
