What is Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington?
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington is a community-based organization that provides young people with fun and safe after school programs. Club offers services and activities designed to build character and strengthen life skills in three core areas – academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character & leadership. Young people can learn to give back to their community, discover their interests, make new friends, and develop positive relationships with caring adults.
Who can join and what are the requirements?
The Club is open to school-aged youth.

  • Elementary membership is open to young people currently in grades 1-5 (kindergarten available at school based sites)
  • Teen membership is open to young people currently in grades 6-12
  • Proof of school registration may be requested to ensure membership eligibility

Club has two membership sessions: School Year and Summer. After attending a New Family Orientation, a membership application must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian for each membership session. Membership fees will not be prorated for partial session memberships.

What sort of programming do you offer?
Boys & Girls Clubs provides program opportunities in a variety of areas – from the arts, to sports and fitness, to homework help. All Boys & Girls Club programs are centered around our three core outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Leadership. Please see your local Club for a copy of its current program schedule.
What does it cost to become a Club member?
A $30 (elementary & middle school) or $10 (high school) registration fee is due at the time of enrollment for each School Year. Summer session costs vary, please contact your Club for current rates.Β 

Additional fees that may apply:

  • Bus Service (select schools only) – $30 per year
  • Monthly Activity Fee – $0-$50/month* (Elementary Programs only)Β 
  • Early Bird Fee – $8 for youth who attend Club on non-school days & summer days prior to 11:00 AM.

*This fee is based on a sliding scale. Please contact your Club for more information.

Is transportation available from my child’s school?
Transportation is limited in both capacity and school locations. Please contact Clubhouses directly to receive updates on their transportation services.
How do the waitlists work?
  • Each Clubhouse has its own waitlist, please contact the Club you wish to sign up your youth for directly.Β 
  • Waitlists prioritize renewing members and then follow the order by which families contacted the Club and were added.Β 
  • When and if space becomes available, the Clubhouse will contact you to communicate the available space and provide next steps for registration.Β 

If space does not allow for your child to register for the current session, you will need to contact your Club to be added to the waitlist for future sessions. Waitlists do not roll over.

When are you open?
Boys & Girls Clubs are open to youth after school and on select non-school days. Times may vary so please visit Join a Club to confirm your Club’s hours.

Each Clubhouse has a calendar that outlines changes to after school programming, such as holidays, inservice days, ect.

Is my child able to attend at another location?
Your child’s membership is valid at one Club location. You may request to transfer Clubhouses at any time by completing a Transfer Request Form, which can be obtained at your Club’s front desk.
How can your membership costs be so low?
To ensure that any youth can afford to belong, BGCSW relies primarily on generous community donations and grants for operating costs. Boys & Girls Clubs is a private nonprofit organization.Β 
Who should I contact if I have a safety concern?
In the event of a safety concern, please contact your Club’s front desk to speak to the Club Director. We take safety concerns seriously and will respond promptly to resolve any concerns you may have.Β 
How can I make a donation?
Financial or in-kind donations from Club families or their employers are greatly appreciated. Donations may be tax-deductible. Please visit the Donate PageΒ or contact your Club for additional giving opportunities.
